Action Communiterre is looking for board members | Action Communiterre recherche de nouveaux membres de son CA

Action Communiterre is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to social and environmental development through the establishment and operation of collectively-managed vegetable gardens. We run 10 organic gardens, known as the Victory Garden Network, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce area in Montreal. Our mission is to bring local residents together in a common effort to enhance food security in our neighbourhood, improve the urban environment, preserve bio-diversity, and strengthen community ties. We are a bilingual and multicultural organization that is governed by a board of directors made up of members of the community and the larger area. There are permanent staff who carry out the day to day work of the organization.

L'agriculture urbaine pour lutter contre la faim (Urban agriculture to fight against hunger) French only

A promising harvest for the Santropol Roulant garden!

This year, thanks to the involvement of our fifty some gardeners in the seedling room since March and the garden since April, we will have our most abundant and diverse harvest yet. Forty different varieties of vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers with more than 600 plants in our garden! New plants of note include brussel sprouts, water melons, broccoli, pumpkins and even some experimental containers with corn and peanuts!

The revolution will be fertilized

Hey folks,
My family just forwarded me this encouraging article about guerilla gardening in Vancouver. One of my mom's friends just got permission from the Municipality of Saanich in Victoria to plant vegetables in the boulevard outside her house too.

Save South Central Community Farm

I have attached an article below about a 14 acre community farm in South Central LA that is being demolished to make way for a warehouse. A friend of the RGP is working with the group to help them in their fight against the developers.
